Industry Advisory Council (IAC)

Industry Advisory Council (IAC)

The ASHB Industry Advisory Council (IAC), chaired by Honeywell/Tridium, serves as a collaborative forum to advance industry priorities impacting intelligent buildings and smart homes. Formed in response to growing market maturity and global momentum, particularly policy and regulatory advancements in Europe and North America, the IAC provides a unified, technology-agnostic voice to support the evolution of the sector.

The Council brings together industry leaders from organizations such as Honeywell, NECA, and others to identify key issues, assess market impact, and guide coordinated advocacy and thought leadership efforts. ASHB is uniquely positioned to convene this group, as it represents the smart building ecosystem in an agnostic, cross-industry capacity.

Building on early discussions with partners such as NECA and potential collaborators including NEMA, UL, and BICSI, the IAC explores opportunities to align industry stakeholders and amplify collective impact. Initial areas of focus include regulatory frameworks, energy efficiency incentives (e.g., building performance programs), and codes and standards development.

The Council will operate within applicable legal frameworks and focus on education, collaboration, and thought leadership to support informed policy dialogue, while being mindful of regulatory, tax, and reputational considerations for member organizations.
