(IS-2016-78) Smart Home Security Report 2016

This report was completed in 2016 by the prpl Foundation. This survey examined consumer opinions gather in six counties. Key findings include: the smart home is already here with device adoption in certain cases already reaching a tipping point; the smart home is woefully insecure due to users’ failure to follow best practices; and, consumers prefer security to usability and are prepared to take more responsibility if it means living in a safer home.
