This paper by Energy Focus discusses Tubular Light-Emitting Diodes (TLEDs) and the best practices associated with them. When compared to fluorescent lighting, TLEDs are up to 60% more efficient, and have up to 3 times the lifespan. The four different types of TLEDs are compared and defined. Important characteristics to consider when designers and engineers are specifying TLEDs are given along with the cost, energy and maintenance savings. Finally, the positive safety and health aspects are discussed.
