This report was completed by the Veracode. The white paper examined the security of six internet connected, always on consumer devices in four different domains to determine the potential for real-world impact. All devices but one exhibited vulnerabilities across most categories putting consumers at risk for an attack or physical intrusion. There is a clear need to perform security reviews of device architecture and accompanying applications to minimize the risk to Internet-of-things users.
